Success Stories

In May 2017 we supplied two households in Rheinberg Eversael near Düsseldorf with a range of I´CONIA varieties. In return, all we asked of Anne and Andrea was that they test the I´CONIAs in various situations and planting combinations in the sun and shade with no input from us, and send us an honest, no-holds-barred report of their experiences. We followed developments up to the end of September. The results were good and confirmed the I´CONIA promise: A real low-maintenance garden beauty in sun and shade.

“I´CONIA ‘Upright Fire’ is lovely! They told me it would do best in semi-shade. But it's in full sun all day long in our fence planters and it doesn't mind a bit! It's really low-maintenance and produces an explosion of flowers in the late summer," Anne enthused when we visited her in her garden in late September.

Her other combined plantings (including with Bidens, Calibrachoa, Verbena and Coleus) were stunning and brought a smile to our faces.

Neat window boxes despite leading a busy life

“With two kids and a dog to look after, I really don't have much time for our window boxes or the garden. I just love I´CONIAs - they're so forgiving. I don't even have to deadhead the old flowers – they just drop off by themselves. Really all I have to do is water every now and again. I can't recommend them enough for anyone who doesn't have much time but still wants a lovely garden full of flowers."

Andrea opted for I´CONIA ‘Miss Malibu’, which she planted as a specimen plant and in window boxes around her house together with Scaevola, both in the sun and in shady spots.

You can see all the pictures from the Rheinberg gardens in our Instagram slide show further down the page or on Instagram. Many thanks to Anne and Andrea who made this happen!
